Lieutenant General (I) Konstantinos Bouzos is the Chief of Staff of the Hellenic National Defence General Staff (HNDGS). He was born in Piraeus. He joined the Hellenic Air Force Academy in 1985 and graduated in 1989 as a 2nd Lieutenant.

He has graduated from the Water Survival School, Instructors School, Air War College/Junior Officers, ATPL/IR (Theoretical Knowledge), Intelligence School, Supreme Joint War College, National Defence College, NATO TACEVAL (Air and ASACS Ops), Unconventional Warfare Training Center (KEAP) and the Parachutists School.

He has more than 3000 flight hours and he has flown with T-41D, T-37B/C, T-2E and F-4E/AUP aircraft.

From June 1989 to June 1994, he was trainee at 120 Air Training Wing and 117CW/Operational Conversion.
From June 1994 to October 1999, he served as Pilot at the 117CW/338 Squadron.
In June 1992, he was promoted to 1st Lieutenant, and in June 1996 to Captain.

From June 1994 to October 1999 he served as a pilot of the 117 CW/338 Squadron and continued to serve in the 117 CW/338 Squadron until February 2002, as Flight Commander.

In June 2001, he was promoted to Major and from February 2002 to July 2004, he successively held the position of the Commander of Pilots Squadron at Hellenic Air Force Academy.

From July 2004 to June 2006, he was Aide-de-Camp of the Chief of the Hellenic National Defense General Staff and Staff officer at the Hellenic National Defense General Staff Executive Chief’s office and then until August 2009, he was Section Head of training at the E-3A Aircrafts in BELGIUM-MONS/NATO AIRBORN EARLY WARNING – FORCE COMMAND while in June 2007 he was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant Colonel.

From August 2009 to July 2010, he was trainee at the Supreme Joint War College.

From July 2010 to September 2014, he was the Spokesperson of the Hellenic National Defense General Staff, while in April 2013 he promoted to Colonel.

From September 2014 to May 2017, he was Deputy Commander of 123 Technical Training Wing and until June 2018 he held the position of the Commander of the 123 Technical Training Group.

From June 2018 to March 2020, he was assigned as Section Head at the Directorate of Counter-Intelligence (HNDGS/E5).

Subsequently, until March 2023, he was the Director of the Department of Military and Technological Support of the General Directorate of Financial Planning and Support (GDFPS), while in March 2021 he promoted to Brigadier General.

From March 2023 to January 2024, he was the General Director of the General Directorate of Financial Planning and Support (GDFPS).

In January 2024, he was promoted to Major General, while until January 2025 he served as the Director of the Hellenic National Defense General Staff Personnel Branch (B).

In January 2025, he was promoted to Lieutenant General and took the position of the Chief of Staff of the Hellenic National Defense General Staff.

He speaks English.

He holds all Greek Armed Forces decorations and Medals up to his rank.
