On Tuesday, February 13 2024, the «Military Cooperation Program» (MCP) between Greece and United Arab Emirates (UAE) for the year 2024 was signed in Abu Dhabi, by the Director of the Directorate of International Relations of the Greek Armed Forces Brigadier General Vasilios Tsamis and the Director of the Directorate of International Affairs Brigadier Staff Jamal Al Marzooqi of the UAE Armed Forces.
The MCP includes, among others:
- Participation in cross-branch exercises, as well as those of the individual branches of the Armed Forces.
- Joint training of Special Forces – Special Operations Forces.
- Co-trainings regarding Crisis Management – Electronic Warfare Disaster Response and Mine Disposal – Improvised Explosive Devices.
- Participation in training at the NATO Maritime Interdiction Operational Training Center (NMIOTC) and carrying out joint training using simulators at the Battle Tank Simulator Center in Alexandroupolis.
- Staff exchange and visits to schools and multinational schools.
- Staff meetings and conversations on matters of mutual interest.
The signing of the Program reaffirmed the continuously evolving Military Cooperation between the two countries, further strengthening the bonds of their Armed Forces, while expanding their interoperability, contributing to enhancing the role of Greece and the UAE as pillars of stability and security in the Mediterranean and Middle East region.
