On Wednesday, February 21 2024, the «Military Cooperation Program» (MCP) between Greece and Egypt for the year 2024 was signed in Cairo, Egypt, by the Director of the Directorate of International Relations of the Hellenic National Defence General Staff (HNDGS), Brigadier General Vasilios Tsamis and the Chief of Strategic Planning Branch of the Egypt Armed Forces Brigadier General Mohamed Saad Al Bayomi.

  The MCP includes, among others:

●   Participation in joint exercises.

●   Joint training of Special Forces – Special Operations Forces.

●   Training in Cyber Security subjects.

●   Participation of the Hellenic Armed Forces in free fall simulator (wind tunnel) training in Egypt.

●   Participation of the Egyptian Armed Forces in training at the NATO Maritime Interdiction Operational Training Center (NMIOTC).

●   Participation of the Egyptian Armed Forces in training on the CH-47D (CHINOOK) helicopter flight simulator, as well as Mirage 2000 and F-16 fighter aircraft.

●   Participation of the Egyptian Armed Forces in training on Joint Terminal Attack Controllers (JTAC) objects.

●   Staff exchange and visits to schools and multinational schools.

●   Staff meetings and conversations on issues of mutual interest.

  The signing of the MCP reaffirms the continuously evolving Military Cooperation between the two countries, further strengthening their military ties and expanding their interoperability, enhancing the role played by Greece and Egypt as pillars of stability and security in the Mediterranean, Middle Easte, and North African regions.
