On Tuesday, February 20 2024, the «Joint Action Plan» (JAP) between Greece – Cyprus – Egypt for the year 2024 was signed in Cairo, Egypt, by the Director of the Directorate of International Relations of the Hellenic National Defence General Staff (HNDGS), Brigadier General Vasilios Tsamis, the Chief of Strategic Planning Branch of the Egypt Armed Forces Brigadier General Mohamed Saad Al Bayomi and the Director of International Relations Directorate of the Cyprus National Guard Lieutenant Colonel Dimitrios Panayides.
The JAP 2024 is a continuation of JAP 2023 and includes, among other actions:
● Participation of assets and personnel in joint and national exercises.
● Joint training of Special Forces – Special Operations Forces.
● Co – training regarding Intelligence, Crisis Management, Disaster Response and Cyber Security subjects.
● Co – training using simulators at the Battle Tank Simulator Center in Alexandroupolis.
● Staff meetings and conversations on issues of mutual interest.
● Planning of the 6th Tripartite Military Dialogue.
The signing of the JAP further deepens the already close military cooperation among the Armed Forces of the three countries within the framework of their defence coordination, enhancing their interoperability and reinforcing the role of Greece, Cyprus, and Egypt as pillars of security and stability in the Eastern Mediterranean and beyond.
