On Thursday, February 22 2024, the Chief of the Hellenic National Defence General Staff (HNDGS) General Dimitrios Choupis met at his office the Deputy Supreme Allied Commander Europe (DSACEUR) Admiral Sir Keith Blount, in the context of his official visit to Greece.
During the meeting they discussed regional and international geopolitical developments, with emphasis on the prevailing situation in Ukraine and the Middle East, as well as various allied actions.
The Chief of the HNDGS, among other things, referred to the significant role of Greece as a pillar of security and stability in the region both at the Allied and European level, and pointed out the firm commitment of Greece to fulfilling its obligations towards the Alliance.
DSACEUR had also a private meeting with the Deputy Chief of the HNDGS Vice Admiral Christos Sasiakos GRC N and they exchanged views on the broader security situation.
