On Wednesday, January 17 2024, the Chief of the Hellenic National Defence General Staff (HNDGS) General Dimitrios Choupis met in his office with the Senator of the State of Rhode Island and President of the World Hellenic Inter-Parliamentary Association (WHIA) Mr. Leonidas P. Raptakis, along with members of the Association.
During the meeting, which was held in a particularly warm atmosphere, issues of mutual interest were discussed with an emphasis on current regional and international developments and their implications for security and stability in the region of the Central and Eastern Mediterranean and the Middle East.
Among other issues, the Chief of the HNDGS referred to the continuously evolving strategic cooperation between Greece and the USA, and praised the significant role played by the Greek diaspora in promoting bilateral relations and advancing national issues.
