On Tuesday, January 16 2024, General Dimitrios Choupis assumed the duties of the Chief of the Hellenic National Defence General Staff (HNDGS) from the outgoing General Konstantinos Floros. Τhe Minister of National Defence Mr. Nikolaos – Georgios Dendias attended the ceremony as a representative of the Prime Minister Mr. Kyriakos Mitsotakis. The whole ceremony took place at the premises of the Hellenic Army Academy in Vari Attica under the auspices of His Eminence the Metropolitan Bishop of Glyfada, Elliniko, Voula, Vouliagmeni and Vari, Mr. Antonios.

The Honorary Chief of the HNDGS General Konstantinos Floros laid the wreath at the Unknown Soldier Monument in Athens.
