A bilateral training between the Armed Forces of Greece and the United States of America (USA) occurred from 20 up to 30 of May 2024 in the Attica region.
On the Greek side personnel and assets from the Special Operations Air Task Unit (SOATU) of the Special Warfare Command (SWC) participated, while the US personnel came from the 160th Special Operations Aviation Regiment (160 SOAR).
The aforementioned activity focused on the planning and conduct of aerial special operations and took place within the framework of SOATU’ s preparation for its upcoming operational evaluation by the Allied Special Operations Forces Command (ASOFCOM) of NATO in June 2024. Concurrently, the training served preparatory purposes regarding the integration of the newly acquired UH-60M helicopters into the SOATU.
This bilateral action underscores the excellent military relationship between the two countries.
