From Monday 08 to Wednesday 17 January 2024, and in the context of the Military Cooperation between Greece and the USA, a bilateral joint training was conducted under the coordination of the Special Warfare Command (SWC) of the Hellenic National Defence General Staff (HNDGS), in the areas of Magnesia and Pieria.
The joint training, which was of the LIVEX/FTX (Live Exercise/Field Training Exercise) type, focused on the planning and execution of amphibious operations and combined fire support. During the training, the participants had the opportunity to practice complex operational scenarios, which contributed to strengthening synergy, increasing combat capability, as well as improving the level of mutual assistance and interoperability between the participating Greek and US Armed Forces.
From the Greek side, personnel and assets of the Hellenic Army General Staff (HAGS) and SWC participated, while from the US side, personnel and assets from the 26th Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU) took part.
This activity demonstrated the excellent relationship between Greece and the USA at a military level and the continuous enhancement of their cooperation aimed at supporting security and stability in the broader region.
