As of Friday 24th July 2020, under the planning and organization by the Hellenic National Defense General Staff (HNDGS) and determination of execution details by the Hellenic Navy General Staff and the Air Force General Staff, Units of the Navy were integrated into the Carrier Strike Group of the Aircraft Carrier USS DWIGHT D. EISENHOWER during its deployment at the Eastern and Central Mediterranean, with the aim of promoting the level of cooperation between Greece and USA.
During the escort mission and in the context of joint training of assets and Units of the two countries, a number of related technical objects were implemented with the participation of a Frigate and a Navy Submarine. In addition, a number of HAF aircraft carried out air combat training with the aircrafts of the carrier in both defensive and offensive role, while during the day live fire took place in the West of Crete, at the KARAVIA Shooting Range.
The co-training will be completed during the evening hours of 27th July 2020.
