On Friday 18th of October 2024, the Chief of the Hellenic National Defence General Staff (HNDGS) General Dimitrios Choupis welcomed the Chief of Staff of the Egyptian Armed Forces, Lieutenant General Ahmed Fathi Ibrahim Khalifa, in the light of his official visit to Greece.
Before visiting the HNDGS, the Lieutenant General Ahmed Fathi Ibrahim Khalifa laid a wreath at the Monument of the Unknown Soldier in Syntagma Square.
During their meeting, issues of strategic importance were discussed with an emphasis on current regional and international security challenges (especially on the latest developments in the Middle East and Ukraine).
Upon concluding his official visit, the Chief of the HNDGS accompanied the Lieutenant General Ahmed Fathi Ibrahim Khalifa to the Minister of National Defence Mr. Nikos Dendias.
On Saturday 19th of October 2024, the Chief of Staff of the Egyptian Armed Forces will attend the Distinguished Visitors Day (DVDay) of the multinational joint exercise “MEDUSA -13” on Crete Island.
