From Monday 5th to Tuesday 13th August 2024, personnel of the Special Warfare Command (SWC) of the Hellenic National Defence General Staff (HNDGS), participated in the international «EUROPEAN BEST SNIPER TEAM COMPETITION-24» (EBSC-24), organized by the United States Army Europe and Africa (USAREUR-AF).
In the competition, which took place in Hohenfels area, Germany, a pair of SWC Snipers placed 4th among 45 teams from 18 participating NATO member states, thus reflecting the high level of training and professionalism of the Hellenic Special Operations Forces – Special Forces personnel.
It is worth noting that this year’s 4th place comes as a continuation of the high performance in past competitions, where SWC Snipers took the 1st and 4th place in 2022, as well as the 4th and 5th place in 2023.
The purpose of the competition was to exchange expertise, experience, tactics, techniques regarding the use of new equipment, strengthen the ties between snipers of the participating countries as well as to increase their combat capability and interoperability.
