From Monday 05 to Friday 09 February 2024, operational training of the Special Warfare Command (SWC) Units of the Hellenic National Defence General Staff (HNDGS), took place in Peloponnese.
One of the principle tasks of the Special Forces – Special Operations Forces (SF – SOF), the Unconventional Warfare was conducted in a hybrid – asymmetric environment. During the training, the following objects were practiced:
- Different types of insertion (with assets such as vehicles – inflatable boats – CH-47D and NH-90 helicopters).
- Ground Assisted Air Interdiction (GAAI) with the use of Joint Terminal Attack Controllers (JTAC).
- Load drops by C-130 and C-27J fixed – wing aircraft.
- Direct Action.
- Special Reconnaissance.
- Guerrilla warfare.
