It is announced that, following an invitation extended by the Armenian Chief of the Armed Forces General Staff and the Deputy Minister of Defence of Armenia General Seyran Ohanyan, the Chief/HNDGS, General Dimitrios Grapsas, paid an official visit to Armenia from October 22nd to October 24th 2007.
During the visit, the excellent relations between the Armed Forces of the two countries were reconfirmed, as well as their mutual objectives concerning further development and enhancement of military cooperation, both at bilateral level and organizations, in which both countries participate.
The two CHODs had collaboration talks on issues of common military interest and the prospect of further expanding the military cooperation between the two countries, and proceeded in signing a bilateral military agreement for the year 2008.
The the Chief/HNDGS expressed his highest esteem concerning the high level of preparations of the Armenian Peace Keeping Contingent, which has been incorporated into the Hellenic Forces Kosovo (ELDYKO), while his Armenian counterpart, General Seyran Ohanyan, referred to the excellent cooperation of the two sides, as well as the significant assistance provided by the Hellenic Forces towards their Armenian counterparts in Kosovo.
Finally, the Chief/HNDGS paid a courtesy visit to the Armenian Defence Minister, Mr. Michael Haroutounyan, and visited military installations as well as the Peace Keeping Regiment.
