It is announced that the Chief, HNDGS Admiral Panagiotis Chinofotis, HN, is conducting the first Hellenic CHOD visit to Jordan, following an official invitation by the Jordanian CHOD, General Khalid J. Al-Sarayreh.
      
     In the framework of this visit, the Hellenic CHOD, accompanied by the Hellenic Ambassador in Amman, Mr. T. Paraskevopoulos, met with His Majesty the King of Jordan  Abdullah-II and the Prime Minister and Minister of Defence Dr. Marouf Bakhit. During the talks, among others, the situation in the Middle East and the Balkans, and the international terrorism were discussed. Emphasis was given to the stabilisation and peace role that Greece plays in South-Eastern Europe and the Eastern Mediterranean, and Jordan in the Middle, East.  .

     The two CHODs also discussed ways for further improvement and development of bilateral relations. They also discussed sectors for cooperation, in the framework of the Mediterranean Dialogue and at bilateral level. The 2007 Military Cooperation Program between the two countries has also been signed. A total of 258 Cadres of the Jordanian Armed Forces have graduated from Hellenic Military institutions, while during the current academic year, 56 Jordanian students attend classes at the said institutions.

     Admiral Panagiotis Chinofotis visited the Bishop of Philadelphia rev. Venedictos, at his See in Amman, as well as the Jordanian Research and  Technology Center.

     Finally, the Hellenic CHOD is scheduled to inaugurate the Hellenic Language School in Amman, established and functioning under the auspices of the Hellenic Ministry of Defence / Hellenic National General Staff.  Today, 13 Officers of the Jordanian Armed Forces attend the School.
