The Hellenic National Defence General Staff announces that, the International Crisis Management Seminar  “ATHENA 06” will be conducted, under the auspices of the  Hellenic National Defence General Staff, at the “Athens Imperial”  Hotel Conference Hall, in Athens, from 29 June to  01 July 2006.
             
         More than 120 political and military representatives from 38 countries and international organisations, as well as representatives from the Hellenic Ministry of Defence, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of the Interior and Press Secretariat will attend the Seminar.
           
         The objective of the seminar is to acquire familiarity with a broad spectrum of crisis management issues, as well as the comprehension and understanding on relative procedures, implications and resolutions available to the International Community. 
          
          Τhe issues to be addressed during the seminar concern mechanisms of crisis management developed by countries and international organisations, as well as the lessons learned from participation in various crisis management operations and exercises at international level. Issues regarding the mission and tasks of Athens Multinational Sealift Co-ordination Center (AMSSCC),  Multinational Peace Support Operations Training Center (MPSOTC) and  Nato Maritime Interdiction Operational Training Center (NMIOTC) will also be included in the agenda of the seminar. Lectures will be given by outstanding officers and civilians from Greece and abroad, with considerable expertise on crisis management issues.
