From the 11th until the 15th of February 2019, preparation and an observation flight took place within Greek territory, by a Russian evaluation team, in the context of the international “Open Skies” treaty of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE).

The “Open Skies” international treaty, in which 34 nations participate, was signed in 1992 and put into effect on the 1st of January 2002, and is characterized by the implementation of confidence-building measures, aiming to achieve transparency in military operations (transatlantic) from Vancouver to Vladivostok, via aerial observations.
