From 21st to 22nd May 2019, the Chief of Defense (CHOD), General Christos Christodoulou participated in the European Union Military Committee (EUNC) Conference and the NATO Military Committee Conference in Chiefs of Defence Session (MC/CS), in Brussels.

The agenda of each Committee was the following:

  1. EUMC Conference

-NATO-EU Cooperation

-Operations conducted by EU in the framework of Common Security and Defense Policy (CSDP)

-Joint training between NATO-EU partners/states

-Developments regarding Permanent Structured Cooperation (PESCO)

– Assessment of security environment in East Asia

  1. 181ST MS/CS Conference

-NATO Deterrence and Defence posture

-Area of Responsibility ( AoR) of SACEUR

-Analysis of the security environment in the aforementioned AoR

-Cooperation between states participating in the Mediterranean Dialogue

 General Christos Christodoulou also met with the SACEUR, General (USAF) Tod D. Wolters, the Chairman of the EUMC, General Claudio Graziano , the Swedish CHOD , General (Air Force) Micael Bydén, and Slovak CHOD , Lieutenant General Daniel Zmeko , as well as the Israeli Deputy CHOD, Major General Eyal Zamir.
