The Chief/HNDGS, General Grapsas Dimitrios, the Chief/HNGS, Vice Admiral Karamalikis Georgios and the Fleet Commander, Vice Admiral Karaiskos Ioannis attended the final phase of “KATEGIS ‘09” Joint Exercise, on board “SALAMIS” frigate.
In the said exercise, which was conducted in the central and south Aegean, the total active Units and Services of the Fleet Command as well as other Units of the Armed Forces and the Port Police participated. The exercise will be concluded on 13 June 2009 , following the return of the ships in the naval yard.
The purpose of the exercise is to strengthen the combat ability at operational and tactical level, to test and evaluate the operational plans and tactics, to enhance the joint cooperation and to demonstrate the hellenic naval power and superiority in the wider region .
