It is announced that, on the 14 March 2009 at 16:30 at the Peania Closed Stadium of Attica (home to Volleyball) the 1st World Military Indoor Athletics Cup will be hosted.
The HNDGS High Athletics Council of the Armed Forces has been appointed to host the event and is integrated under the international spectrum activities of the International Military Sports Council (CISM).
Participating at the 1st World Military Indoor Athletics Cup will be distinguished athletes from countries such as Italy ,Slovenia, Cyprus, Poland, Latvia ,Brazil ,Serbia , Belarus, Czech Republic, Mauritania, Albania ,Bangladesh , Qatar and India, among them many being European Championship Winners, as well as Greek Olympic Medal Winners and World title holders.
On Thursday 12 March 2009, with the presence of the Deputy MoD Mr Ioanni Plakiotaki an exclusive press conference was given by the Director of the High Athletics Council of the Armed Forces , Rear Admiral Ioannis –Sotiris Svarnias
