REPLY TO PRESS RELEASES (PRESS RELEASE No. 33/2008)

Regarding press releases related to the participation of Greece in the activities of Standing NATO Maritime Group II (SNMG II), the HNDGS clarifies that:

• The activities of the Group are predetermined and planned by SHAPE on a yearly basis.

• Greece has regularly participated in the Group, since 1992, in the context of its commitments towards the Alliance.

•  The SNMG II, with the participation of a Greek ship, has repeatedly operated beyond the Mediterranean Sea.
