It is announced that the International Crisis Management Conference “Athena 08” will be conducted under the auspices of the Hellenic Ministry of National Defence at the “Divani Caravel” Conference Hall, from 02 to 04 July 2008.
The aim of the Conference is to inform and exchange views on the methods, procedures and capabilities of the International Community for crisis prevention and management in the developing international environment.
During the Conference, issues on the crisis management mechanisms, developed by international organizations, as well as the lessons learned from the participation in crisis management operations and exercises at international level, will be addressed. Additionally, discussions related to the developments in areas of international interest will be hold.
Military and civil personnel from international organizations, from NATO, EU, OSCE member states, as well as from other countries in which credited Defence Attaches from Greece have been assigned, will attend the Conference. Furthermore, representatives from the University Community and the Institutes of International Relations and Strategic Studies of Greece and abroad will attend the Conference.
The Hellenic Minister of National Defence, Mr. Evangelos Meimarakis, will open the Conference, on Wednesday, 02 July 2008, at 09.00.
