It is announced that the Chief/HNDGS, General Dimitrios Grapsas, will attend the EU MC Regular Session, at CHoDs level, to be held in Brussels, on 16 May 2008.

The issues to be discussed during the Session, will concern, in general, the current operations and efforts for improving EU-led operational capabilities.

Specifically, in the context of EU-led operations, there will be discussions about the process of the operation “ALTHEA” in Bosnia-Herzegovina, in conjunction with the recent procedures in Kosovo, as well as the latest process of CHAD and Central African Republic missions.

Concerning the improvement of the EU Operational Capabilities, discussions will be held on the EU Battlegroups and the related process from the last CHoD EU Session. Additionally, plans for further Military capability development of the European Union will also be discussed.

Significant event of the meeting will be the Hellenic presentation of the capabilities of the Athens Multinational Sealift Coordination Centre and its contribution to EU operations.

Finally, the Issue of the European Constitutional Treaty will also be discussed, mainly the possible consequences from its implementation on the EU Common External and Defence Policies.
