It is announced that the Chief of the Armed Forces of Jordan, General Khalid Al-Sarayreh, will pay an official visit to Greece from 04 to 08 March 2007, officially invited by the Chief of the Hellenic National Defence General Staff, Admiral Panagiotis Chinofotis, in return for his visit to Jordan, in November 2006.
The Chief of the Armed Forces of Jordan, following a full honour ceremony at “PAPAGOU” military camp, will have cooperation with the Chief of the Hellenic National Defence General Staff on issues of common military interest and the prospect of further developing military cooperation between the two countries. The Chief of the Armed Forces of Jordan will also visit military units, Military Academies and facilities of the Hellenic Defence Industry.
A total of two hundred fifty eight cadres of the Jordanian Armed Forces have graduated from Hellenic Military Academies, while 56 Jordanian students currently attend courses at Hellenic Military Academies. Another 12 senior Officers attend courses at the Greek language school, situated in Amman.
To note that Jordan, together with 6 more countries (Algeria, Egypt, Israel, Mauritania, Morocco and Tunisia) is a member of NATO’s Mediterranean Dialogue. It has also participated in «DOLPHIN» exercises, which took place in Gavdos Island in 2005 and 2006, as well as in the Mediterranean Dialogue Seminar in 2006. General Khalid Al-Sarayreh will have a courtesy call with the Minister of National Defence, Mr Evangelos I. Meimarakis.
During his stay in our country, the Chief of the Armed Forces of Jordan will have guided tours at museums and archaeological sites.
