Following No 36 press release, it is announced that the Chief of the Armed Forces of Turkey, General Yasar Buyukanit is visiting Greece, from 01 to 04 Nov 2006, officially invited by the Chief of the Hellenic National Defence General Staff, Admiral Panagiotis Chinofotis.
On the 2nd of November, General Buyukanit will lay a wreath at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier. Later, following his official reception at PAPAGOY military base, he will have a courtesy call with the Minister of National Defence, Mr Evangelos Meimarakis.
During the formal discussions to follow, on military level, the two Chiefs will exchange views on matters of common interest and explore ways to enhance mutual confidence and understanding.
During his stay in Greece, General Buyukanit will be provided with guided tours at museums and archaeological sites.
