The Hellenic National Defence General Staff announces that Athens Multinational Sealift Coordination Center (AMSCC) will host the International Conference of the Military Support Section of the Planning Board for Ocean Shipping (PBOS) from 5 to 7 September 2006. This Section deals with strategic sealift.
Experts from the International Shipping Community, representatives from NATO and National Military Authorities of Member States as well as representatives from the Hellenic Chamber of Shipping and the Associations of Domestic Shipping Community will attend the Conference.
Presentations and discussions, during the Conference, will focus on issues concerning strategic sealift, the availability of means of the Shipping Market, the analysis of lessons learned from NATO exercises, aiming at determining methods that the Alliance could efficiently cope with the lack of sealift supporting assets.
