On Wednesday, 22 May 2019, Commodore Michael Naoum HN Director of the International Relations Directorate and the General Director for Defence Policy, Ministry of Defense of Albania, Florian Kali, signed the Military Cooperation program between Albania and Greece, for 2019, at the Hellenic National Defence General Staff (HNDGS) Athens.
The military Cooperation Program includes activities such as:
Training at the NATO Maritime Interdiction Operation Training Center (MIOTC) and Hellenic Multinational Peace Support Operation Training Center (MPSOTC)
Cooperation in the areas of search and rescue operations and air policing
Mutual visits of delegation and exchanges of instructors.
The two parties also discussed the perspectives of extending the current military cooperation to new areas of mutual interest.
Additionally, the Albanian deligation participated in a coordinating meeting with the secretarian of the South East Europe Defense Ministerial (SEDM), since Albania is going to assume the chairmanship of SEDM on 1 July 2019.
