From 25th June to 5th of July 2019, the final phase of Exercise “GORDIAN KNOT 2019” of NATO Rapid Deployable Corps-Greece (NRDC-GR) took place in vicinity of Thessaloniki. The aim of the exercise, in which personnel from other NATO members – states also participated, was to maintain the operational capabilities of NRDC-GR.
On Friday, July 5th, the Distinguished Visitors Day (DVDay) took place in Assiros, Thessaloniki. The Chief of the Hellenic Army General Staff, Lieutenant General Georgios Kampas attended the activities, as the representative of the Chief of Defense. Also delegations were present from several NATO Force Structure Commands, representatives from countries with which Greece has a military co-operation program, high ranking Hellenic Armed Forces and Law Enforcement Officers, as well as accredited Defense Attaches in Greece.
