In the context of Open Skies Treaty, an observation flight over Russian Federation is made from 18 to 22 October 2010.
  
  
The inspection is made by a multinational team consisting of inspectors from Greece, Germany and Italy. Greece participates with 2 inspectors.
 

Open Skies Treaty was signed in Helsinki on 24 March 1992 during OSCE session. There are twenty-seven member-states of NATO and the former Warsaw Pact that participate in the Treaty. It entered into force on January 1, 2002 as an instrument of confidence building.
  

Open Skies is an effort to promote transparency of military activities. It covers territory from Vancouver to Vladivostock with aerial observations. Following the conclusion of the observation flight, the observing Party shall compile a mission report to be delivered to all member-states within 7 days.
