Greece’s ChoD General (HAF) Ioannis Giagkos, is attending from 14 to 16 June 2010 the Strategic Military Partner Conference 2010 (SMPC 2010), conducted in Helsinki, Finland.

As in the past, the conference will provide a unique opportunity for all NATO, Partnership for Peace (PfP), Mediterranean Dialogue (MD), Istanbul Cooperation Initiative (ICI) and eight selected Contact Country (CC) Chiefs of Defence (CHOD) to discuss strategic issues important to NATO and its partners. This year’s conference is dedicated to support the development of NATO’s new Strategic Concept (SC). The findings from this event will be used by SACT to help craft his best military advice and ACT in its transformational efforts.

SMPC is a core event within SACT’s Strategic Engagement Campaign. It is a strategic level conference dedicated to inform NATO, MD, ICI and selected CC CHODs. The feedback SACT received following SMPC 2008, supporting the Multiple Futures Project, was extremely valuable.
