The  102nd  Conference of the NNAG  was  held  in  Chania (Crete),  from 20 – 22 October 2009.  Thirty eight  participants from the Alliance member states attended  the Conference.  The topics  discussed  concerned   the  development  of  armaments  programs  that  would  meet  the  operational  requirements  of  the  Naval  Forces of  the NATO member states,  on  the  basis of  interoperability .

On   the  occasion  of  the  Conference,  the   Commander  of   the  Maritime  Interdiction Operations  Training Center  (NMIOTC)  presented  the role  and  the  capabilities of the Center,  while   presentations  were  made on  the  capabilities of  the  NATO  Missile  Firing Installation and the NATO FORACS RANGE /GR- Naval Forces Sensor and Weapon Accuracy Check Site  by the appropriate staff officers. Additionally , a  maritime  interdiction  operation  demonstration  was  performed on the premises of  NMIOTC , and on the training vessel “ARIS” by NMIOTC training officers.

Last but not least, from 19-23 October 2009 a WMD seminar in Maritime Interdiction Operations was held at NMIOTC. The participants belonged to a multinational community of experts of the following organizations:

• Allied Command Transformation Operational Experimentation Branch (ACT)
• Organization for the Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE)
• World Customs Organization (WCO)
