<p>The bilateral Greece-Egypt Maritime Exercise "MEDUSA 2015" is carried out from 7 to 11 December 2015, within the existing program of military cooperation between the two countries.</p>
<p>The exercise area includes the south-southeastern Aegean, north and south Cretan Sea with the participation of Navy and Air Force assets of both countries.</p>
<p>The Greek side participation: 2 FFGH, 1 FPB, 12 F-16 sorties, 2 SUPER PUMA sorties</p>
<p>The Egyptian side participation: 1 FFGH, 2 FPB and 18 F-16 sorties</p>
<p>The main cooperation issues include:</p>
<ul>
<li>technical exercises</li>
<li>live gunfire exercises</li>
<li>air defense exercises – attack surface targets</li>
<li>maritime interdiction operations (MIO)</li>
<li>electronic warfare and communications exercises</li>
<li>SAR exercise involving navy ships and hellos SUPER PUMA</li>
</ul>
<p>Additionally, on 8 December 2015, NMIOTC provided training concerning MIO to Egyptian navy ships crew members.</p>
<p>In the frame of the exercise “MEDUSA 2015”, 4 Egypt Air Force F-16 redeployed to 115 CW air base from 8 to 11 December 2015. In adittion, NATO Missile Firing Installation (NAMFI) facilities were provided for the Egyptian Armed Forces staff members’ accommodation.</p><br/><br/>
